Island Style アイランド スタイル
〜キャロル先生よりメッセージ〜
Aloha Students,

For about 2 years now, in Hawaii, A lot of the
people who make Head Haku’s , Po’o Haku on the Neck,
and also for the Hats; started to make them so Big and
Large, with Huge Flowers and Large leaves in their Leis.

Many famous Entertainers and Models used these Large
Leis on Stage, to make a Statement. (A show piece)
This year Graduation was back in Hawaii, and I had a few
orders to make even Money Leis Huge. It became a type
that the "Island Style” was popular.

The Cymbidium Orchid is large and strong, so many people
used it in their Haku. Some people even used Big Anthurium
flowers in their Lei. So, I decided to work hard to make these
Large flowers, and also create the Chevron flowers.
I hope you enjoy them, as much as I created them.

アロハ生徒の皆さん、

ハワイではここ2年くらい、沢山の方が、ヘッド(頭）ハク、首に着けるポオ(頭）ハクや帽子用など、それらをとても大きくし始め巨大な花や大きな葉を入れてレイを作っています。

多くの有名タレントやモデルがこのような大きなレイをステージで使用し、主張して（印象を与えて）います。 (展示品のような優れたものとして)
今年、ハワイでは卒業式が戻ってきました。（去年まではパンデミックで卒業式も小規模でオンラインでの開催でした）そして卒業式用にマネー（お金）レイをオーダーをいただいたのですが、マネーレイでさえ、大きなものを作って欲しいと希望されました。「アイランドスタイル」のような大きなレイが人気になっています。

シンビジウムオーキッドは大きくて丈夫な花です。そのため沢山の人がハクにしています。大きなサイズのアンスリウムのレイを使っている人もいます。ですので、私もこのような大きな花をリボンレイで頑張って作ってみることにしました。そして、山形のお花も作り(生み出し）ました。

私がこのレイを生み出した時と同じくらい楽しんで作っていただければ幸いです。
